The Kings Tulare Continuum of Care on Homelessness would like to invited individuals and organizations to join us in the fight to end homelessness in the bi-county region by becoming a member of the CoC. CA COVID-19 Rent Relief

The State of California is now accepting applications for rental and utilities assistance for renters and landlords who have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The program can pay up to 80% of a renters unpaid rent if the landlord agrees to waive the remaining 20% or 25% of the unpaid rent if the landlord doesn't agree. Also eligible are future rent and utilities assistance.

Public Comment: Temporary COVID-19/CES Prioritization Policies

The Kings/Tulare Homeless Alliance is currently in an open comment period for the Temporary COVID/CES Prioritization Policies. The purpose of these temporary prioritization policies is to quickly identify and house people who are experiencing homelessness that are at a high risk for developing serious complications from COVID-19. The Alliance encourages all members to comment on these proposed measures. The public comment period runs from 4/9/2021 to 4/16/2021. Please submit comments to leticiah@kthomelessalliance.org.

HUD CoC Tier 2 Awards Announced

The US Department of Housing & Urban Development (HUD) Continuum of Care (CoC) Program FY 2019 NOFA Competition Tier 1 and DV Bonus awards were announced in January. On March 12, 2020, HUD released Tier 2 Awards. In summary, our overall CoC results for the FY 2019 CoC NOFA include:

  • Net gain of $163,992*
  • All renewals projects funded
  • No new projects funded
  • Previous ARD: $2,310,307 vs new ARD $2,474,299

*Increase due to Fair Market Rent increases
